Banks pace modest pullback in European stocks

LONDON (MarketWatch) - European shares weakened modestly on Thursday, with banks lower after the Federal Reserve raised doubts for further U.S interest rate cuts, although earnings-related gains from food giant Unilever and gains from commodity shares limited downside.
